Maison Couturier is an old estate in tropical Veracruz, built by french immigrants
in the XIX century. Surrounded by banana plantations, lemon trees and exotic
vegetation, the estate has become a small 18 room "guesthouse farm", each
with its own terrace and beautiful antique furnishing.
The french community that settled here in 1833 still keeps its traditions alive.
Hand-made artisan cheese is prepared all around the area, as well as wood oven-baked water bread.
In family homes, food is cooked with a distinct french touch, based on old
recipes, handed down from generation to generation.
